Introduction
This is the Thirteenth Conference in the Computational Structures Technology series that commenced in 1991. Previous venues for the conference have included: Budapest, Edinburgh, Prague, Leuven, Lisbon, Gran Canaria, Athens, Valencia, Dubrovnik and Naples. The conference is concerned with the application of the latest computational technology to structural mechanics and engineering. Computational Technology encompasses both the latest hardware and software developments as well as algorithmic and theoretical techniques.

The conference is also concerned with both theoretical, mathematical and scientific developments as well as applications of established technology to new domains. The word 'structures' is interpreted in its widest sense.

The conference runs concurrently with the Tenth International Conference on Engineering Computational Technology. Participants may attend sessions from either conference.

Opening Lecture
The CST2018 Conference will be opened jointly with the ECT2018 Conference with a lecture presented by Professor K.J. Bathe of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge MA, USA.

The conference opening lecture will commence at 9am on Tuesday 4th September 2018.

Special Sessions
A number of special sessions will be organised at this Conference. If you wish to participate in a special session please indicate this when you submit your paper proposal. Over the coming months the list of special sessions will gradually grow. Please visit this page regularly to keep up to date.

The list of special sessions is being assembled. Proposals for the organisation of a special session on your specialist topic including six or more papers are welcome.

Journal Special Issues
Papers presented at the CST2018 conference are eligible for submission to a special issue of the International Journal Computers and Structures after the conference. The details of the submission procedures will be given on this webpage early in 2018. The review process and submission process will start in June 2018 participants should start preparing their papers for publication as soon as their extended abstracts are accepted.
